#FAQs for Parents and Professionals
So what’s this all about?
I find as I have moved into the world of Birth Work there are lots of questions. Questions from expecting parents, questions from other birth workers, and questions of my own. Many questions have solid, evidence-based information to help us make decisions.
Other questions leave us pondering. Sometimes the answers aren’t black and white, sometimes the answers are more in the gray. Many times prayer and discernment are needed to help a person know what decision is best for them and their situation.
But one thing we do know is that the Bible tells us to seek wise counsel.
“A wise man will hear and increase learning, And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel,”
There is a multitude of scripture that discusses wisdom and wise counsel. Another is, Proverbs 15:22 “Without counsel, plans go awry, But in the multitude of counselors they are established.” The Lord wants us to not only go to the source (Him and his word), but also to seek out wise counsel when making decisions. As wise counsel can speak to things we haven't thought of or lead us to other scripture to bring clarity to our decisions. My hope for this blog is to be a source of wise counsel.
Does that mean that everything I say or suggest is the decision you should make? Of course not. The Lord will give you discernment and help you lean into the right choice for you and your situation, but hopefully this blog can be a source of wise counsel for you.
Blessings,
Akasha
